The Background Story

Coerced Musings is a place for dumping the over-flow of information and interests that pour out of my head.  As a person in the tangible world, I have many interests. Three separate times, I made strong attempts to formulate some type of list that, at the bare minimum, would give some type of impression about what those interests are.  I just couldn’t do it.  I love engaging in just too many things that categorizing them in a few short sentences seems pointless and diminutive.

And that in itself is the point.  In an attempt to formulate an online persona, my list of interests just doesn’t cut it.  I can’t possibly create my “online brand” without whittling that list down some.

I see this blog as a starting block.  A place to see which of my interests work within my own blogosphere, which don’t, and which ones I’d rather save for myself.  Blogging is not something that is comfortable for me.  There are many instances where blogging has a place, but many more where it doesn’t.

One of the reasons I have so many interests today is that long ago, I came to the conclsion that you can never truly know about something unless you immerse yourself into it.  So here I am, trying to figure out one more facet of Web 2.0 by forcing myself to blog.  Maybe something will stick and musings that were once coerced out of me will find a new blog of their own.  Until then, I give you my Coerced Musings.

Interesting title to the blog. Can you explain it a little for me? What do you mean by “coerced”?

“Coerced” comes from the four day period during which I lamented constantly over a name for this hodgepodge of musings. A period which some friends and family members would surely rather forget as I constantly drilled them for opinions. One night I woke up, accepted the fact that I felt as if I were being forced into blogging and rolled with that thought. A month later, I can’t stop thinking about blogging or SEO and the name has stuck. I only have one person to thank for this new obsession…

Hey man! don’t blame me 🙂 You even asked for special permission to take this course!

    It is a free world.

A man may choose what he wants, but he may not want what he wants. (I am quoting her words that inspired Einstein but not a quote from Einstein … have lost the source.)
